Fairtrade farmers are at the very centre of everything Fairtrade is about, so we made this book which illustrates the work they do, the amazing coffee they produce and how we support them to do it.

The book (a real-life version!) will be part of what we use at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) to explain the benefits of Fairtrade and how we work. We’re going to be at the show, on stand 279 in Origin Alley, from 27 to 30 September 2022.

We’re excited to be joined by two Fairtrade coffee farmers from the Pacific, Madalena Soares and Mitchell Ricky, who will share their personal experiences of the impacts of Fairtrade in Timor-Leste and Papua New Guinea. We’ll also be sharing the space over the four days with a range of our coffee partners from Australia and New Zealand. They’ll explain why they choose to be Fairtrade certified and why they think it’s important.

MICE provides Fairtrade Australia New Zealand with an opportunity to speak with coffee aficionados and industry about how we work with business in both countries, and directly with coffee farmers in the Pacific, to help make coffee sustainable and ethical.
