Fairtrade ANZ’s 2017-2018 Annual Report

We are excited to announce the release of the 2017-18 Fairtrade ANZ annual report.

The report details the positive impact of our work, in conjunction with partners in government and business, and the support of consumers in Australia and New Zealand, all of whom continue to help farmers and workers around the world to develop thriving communities and have more control over their futures.

During this time, Fairtrade ANZ has welcomed two new producer organisations; the coffee-producing Cooperativa Comercio Agricola de Timor in Timor-Leste and the ginger-producing Wainunu Organic Growers Association in Fiji. We are thrilled these two producer organisations have joined the Fairtrade family.

Closer to home, our submission to the inquiry into establishing a Modern Slavery Act in Australia, and a major research project to identify significant new markets for Fairtrade certified Fijian sugar, conducted in conjunction with the Fiji Sugar Corporation and funded by a grant from the European Union, are just two examples of the expertise we stand ready to offer throughout the sector.

Fairtrade Fortnight and the World Fairtrade Challenge were great successes once again, thanks to our dedicated and growing family of supporters and advocates. Your choice to purchase products carrying the Fairtrade Mark and to speak out in support of our mission to transform trade and improve lives is vital in continuing the positive impact of Fairtrade.
